Founded in 2009 as an Italian architecture practice, DRA&U has progressively expanded its field of action, the scale of its work and its international presence. Today, from its operational headquarters in Rome, the Studio develops projects across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, working with public institutions, investors, funds, developers and private clients.
Over the years DRA&U has undertaken medium and large-scale programmes in the residential, commercial, hospitality and cultural sectors, alongside urban regeneration, interior design, exhibition and product design. In parallel, it has developed specific expertise in real estate enhancement and investment processes, consolidating an approach that connects design quality, feasibility and economic objectives.
Architecture, engineering and strategic consultancy are distinct areas of expertise that can operate independently or converge through an integrated design model. DRA&U brings together design vision, technical knowledge and strategic capability to interpret the potential of places and translate it into concrete, recognisable and sustainable interventions.
Research is an integral part of the Studio's activity: DRA&U investigates the evolution of spaces, patterns of use and technologies, with particular attention to digital interfaces as research tools applied to architecture. Not merely means of representation, but devices capable of contributing to design, supporting decisions, sharing scenarios and expanding the relationship between space, people and information.
This approach allows DRA&U to go beyond simply answering the brief, identifying possibilities not yet expressed and building design strategies capable of generating quality, innovation and lasting value.

One structure, one direction.
DRA&U offers clients the possibility of entrusting a single professional structure with the governance of the key design disciplines — architecture, structural and MEP engineering, sustainability and management — ensuring unified direction, with a single main point of contact responsible for coordinating decisions, information and the interfaces between disciplines.
This model reduces fragmentation between consultants, anticipates conflicts and critical issues, and makes decision-making faster and better informed. Bringing the different areas of expertise together from the earliest stages also makes it possible to assess every solution not only in terms of quality and performance, but also of its economic and construction implications.
Cost optimisation thus becomes part of the project from its very origin: a continuous value-engineering process that directs resources towards the choices capable of generating the greatest value, increasing the predictability of schedules and investments and reducing the overall risk of the operation.
