PROJECT SUMMARY
The project involves the construction of a three-storey building to be realized within an area of a great landscape value, near the Lake of Albano Laziale. The primary goal of the commission is to realize a project that is different from the existing types of buildings in this area and to give priority to the environmental aspect of sustainability. The importance of this idea was a key element to develop a house characterized by a particular shape similar to “Y”, which guarantees a good distribution of the interior space.
In summer the windows are fully opened creating a continuity between interior and exterior. Sustainability has guided the choice of the elements which make up this project, seeking the right balance between integration with the context and functionality. The exterior finishing is in maple wood alternating with plaster. A “green roof” better integrates the building with the landscape and provides good thermal performance during both summer and winter.
